I have already spoken, previously, in the beauty section of the blog, about non-invasive interventions. Still, there is also the possibility of achieving permanent results through a cosmetic surgery operation.

I cannot help you decide, but I can present you with the two options to assess which one may interest you more.

Temporary Procedure

When carrying out this type of intervention, the first option is through non-invasive surgery. A few days ago, I published an article about this type of treatment and why more and more people are undergoing it instead of cosmetic surgery.

It is a straightforward and fast procedure, lasting approximately one hour and so light that you can return to your everyday life even the same day.

First, it is necessary to conduct a cleaning in the area to treat. Then, if you want to avoid all kinds of discomfort, however slight they may be, it is advisable to apply an anesthetic ointment or local cold.

It lasts from six months to a year, and the intervention can be carried out once a year during any season.

The treatment is performed through injections with an excellent needle and can do with various materials:

Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid is a compound that does not produce allergic reactions. Arenol

This is a synthetic material, which carries a higher risk of allergy. The positive part of its use is that it supposes a longer duration of the results.

Autologous Collagen

The duration is somewhat shorter, but there is no risk of allergy since it is collagen from your own body, extracted from another area.

• Collagen of bovine origin: requires allergy tests and lasts approximately four to three weeks.
• Dermatogen: is another type of collagen, in this case, extracted from deceased donors. It does not pose an allergy risk.
• Fascia: It can occur by injection and surgically and lasts approximately one year. It is corrective tissue of human origin, both own and deceased donors.
• Restyling: is a hyaluronic acid gel with different degrees of cohesion. It lasts six months.

Permanent Intervention

It is a simple intervention of no more than an hour (30 minutes each lip). Then, the surgeon makes two small slits at the corners to insert the implants, which can be of various types:

• Allodium: these are sheets of collagen extracted from deceased donors, and it lasts for one year.
• Gore-Tex, soft form and soft eTPES: synthetic materials may pose an allergy risk but permanent results.
• Own fat grafting: it is possible to achieve permanent results.
• Local grafts are more aggressive than the other methods as it uses tissue and skin from inside the mouth.
• Silicone elastomer prostheses.

When Not To Undergo Any Of The Procedures

• Even though it is a reasonably safe intervention, with hardly any risks, and the existing threats are not very serious, as we will see below, it is not advisable for a series of people to undergo these procedures.
• To begin with, it is not for those who suffer from certain diseases such as diabetes or lupus erythematosus;  blood coagulation disorders.
• If you regularly have cold sores or some scar on your lips, it is also not appropriate to undergo this type of treatment.
• Finally, those people who tend to produce hypertrophic scars should not have lip augmentation either.
• If you are not in any of these groups. Likely, you will not have a problem performing any of these procedures. In any case, you should always consult an aesthetic doctor so that he can directly evaluate your case and advise you on the matter.

Risks

Sometimes, once you have undergone lip augmentation through, for example, the permanent method, a series of side effects may appear.
